The Office of International Health and Safety (OIHS) supports the health, safety, and security of all MSU international travelers.
MSU is one of the few institutions in the country to employ two full-time staff persons dedicated to overseeing international health and safety concerns, and responding to emergencies abroad involving students, faculty or staff. The Director and Coordinator for International Health and Safety evaluate risk, plan for emergencies, and manage crises for over 3,000 student, faculty, and staff international travelers each year.
OIHS works closely with the Risk and Security Assessment Committee, the Office of Study Abroad, the University Physician, and colleges/ departments to prevent or minimize the impact of risks to MSU students and employees traveling internationally.
