On August 15, 2018, MSU switched international insurance providers from GeoBlue to International SOS. This insurance coverage will cover MSU faculty, staff, and students (including Education Abroad participants) traveling internationally on MSU-sponsored travel.
MSU travelers will be covered by comprehensive international health insurance and will have access to 24/7 medical and security assistance through International SOS (ISOS), a leading international medical and security assistance company. The benefits include:
No. Education Abroad participants are automatically enrolled in ISOS coverage.
If you have a signed Pre-Trip Authorization form and have registered in the MSU Global Travel Registry, you don't need to do anything else. Registering in the Travel Registry automatically enrolls you in insurance coverage and activates your ISOS membership.
No, there will not be any disruptions to your health insurance coverage. Until August 15th, MSU-affiliated travelers will be covered by GeoBlue insurance. On August 15 and going forward, MSU-affiliated travelers will be covered by Chubb insurance through International SOS (ISOS).
If you incurred out-of-pocket medical expenses before August 15, 2018, you may submit a reimbursement claim to GeoBlue. Please review instructions for Education Abroad participants or instructions for all other international travelers.
